Gosforth claims the Gold at National Finals
Friday morning at Victoria Park in Royal Leamington Spa brought the ultimate triumph to our club as our Two Fours team put on a masterclass to claim the National Championship title!

The team was unchanged from the quarter and semi finals the day before and the lads put on a performance of sheer grit, class, and determination against Worcester Bowling Club A.
On Rink A5 were Karl Jameson, Steve Harvey, Josh Minto, and BJ Byles
On Rink A4 were Michael Cymber, Simon Richardson, Phil Harvey, and Chris Yeomans.
The match started slowly for our lads and Worcester edged ahead 11–6 after 9 ends but we kept chipping away to trail narrowly at 13–12 after 14 ends.
From there, our lads seized total control, putting their foot firmly on the accelerator to pull ahead 19–15, extend to 31–17, and ultimately seal a magnificent 39–28 victory to capture the gold!
This is the first time we have won this competition and it's actually the first win for a club from Northumberland since 1973 - we've had some near misses including finishing runner up in 2009!! Everyone at the club couldn't be prouder of what the lads have achieved.
Thanks must also go to the lads who made themselves available as reserve throughout the competition (Paul Timney, Nick Armstrong and Richard Curtis).
A special thanks also goes to Steve Pallas for his incredible organisation skills to manage the team and the fixtures as well as being a reserve.
